Issues include: Existing Waste Collection, Self-Haul, Service Rates/Fees, Absence of Competition, Failure to Take Initiative. (Note: there is need for long-term planning to govern short-term decision making and contract negotiation.)

Do you think that old business (unfinished transportation projects from Measure A and current Measure T) should be attended to as a first priority?
Specific ‘old business’ includes the following:
*Complete pavement hook-ups of Rd 620 from Hwy 41 to Rd 628.
*Complete pavement hook-ups of Rd 420 from Hwy 41 to Rd 426.
*Widen Rd 415 from Hwy 41 to Coarsegold Elementary School.
*Complete Hwy 41 passing lanes from Hwy 145 to Rd 200.
*Add additional lanes/routes on Hwy 41 over Deadwood Mountain, from Rd 420 to Hwy 49.
*
Should transportation projects be explicitly identified in all MCTC planning, rather than merely suggested on a list of needed infrastructure improvements?
*
Are you in favor of a formal audit of all funded projects?
Issues related to proposed land developments in multiple Eastern Madera County Areas should require reference to our Madera County General Plan and our Area Plans. These include Community Service Districts (CSDs), Sky Ranch Hotel expansions, and proposed developments known as Sky Ranch RV Park, Sierra Meadows, Hounds Tooth Inn area Conference Center, SHE, etc. (Note: many of these efforts at development are characterized by conflicting objectives and a failure to adhere to the Madera County General Plan and Oakhurst Area Plan.)

We assist Madera County Officials and residents in evaluating policy options that have the potential to save money. Our recommendations are intended to enhance compliance and improve services. Our work in District 5 is tied to efforts throughout Madera County and we continue to build our coalition…

We are a coalition of organizations in Eastern Madera County—in the mountains and foothills.
We seek and support service-oriented ordinances and governance structures. We oppose attempts by county officials to increase rates, fees, or profits from poorly analyzed and overpriced services.
We agree that the structures of government should be designed to support efficient and ethical practices through transparent contracts. We assert that these structures can be further strengthened by direct engagement of residents in the actual committee work of governing.
Some of us have been volunteering our time locally for nearly 20 years. Others became involved in 2021 in response to the proposed solid waste rate hike.
Several of us are retired non-profit executives and school board members. Others have worked in large corporations and major utilities as strategic planners and logistics specialists. Some of us are retired structural and aerospace engineers. A few are former candidates for public office. Many attend church. We range widely in our political orientations: Progressive Democrats to Independents to Constitutional Conservatives. We talk, we read, and we try to engage our local officials through written correspondence around complex issues.
Our ‘reasoned dialogue’ stance as a coalition of smaller organizations requires discussion, listening, and debate about core government functions. We’ve become skilled collaborators over time, and we expect Madera County elected officials and hired staff to engage with our organizations.
We provide careful analysis of issues and problems. We seek solutions that reflect informed and transparent deliberation. We speak and write on behalf of Madera County residents' collective long-term interests.
